Faurecia has appointed Eelco Spoelder as Group Operations EVP and member of the Executive Committee, with responsibility for supplier development, manufacturing and logistics, quality and HSE.

Spoelder will also be responsible for Information Systems , the Group’s digital transformation and the introduction of new technologies.

He was previously EVP and head of the Instrumentation and Driver HMI Business Unit at Continental, a role he has held since 2008. Prior to that he was VP Infotainment Solutions and Radio Navigation divisions for Siemens North America, having previously been VP of Purchasing for the Siemens Interior and Infotainment Division.

Spoelder started his career in 1996 in Philips Car systems, which later become Mannesmann VDO Car communication.

“Eelco’s broad experience in the automotive industry and his strong technology and electronics expertise will help accelerate Faurecia’s transformation and in particular contribute to the group’s ambition of becoming a leader in the Cockpit of the Future and Sustainable Mobility,” said a Faurecia statement.

The Group’s Executive Committee now comprises eleven members representing five different nationalities.
