General Motors Europe UK unit Vauxhall is considering returning to internet selling, bringing back its ‘VIP programme’ from about a decade ago.
This would parallel, but differ in detail from, a pilot programme under way in the US called ‘Shop, Click, Drive’ which allows potential buyers to search dealer stock for the vehicle they want, add accessories, estimate payments, apply for credit and set a date for collection or delivery.
“Vauxhall was the first to offer cars for sale on the internet back in the early 2000s,” a source told just-auto.
“The perfect car with which to make the VIP comeback is Adam and that’s exactly what we’re working on right now.”
