A spokesman for Renault has told just-auto that “a D segment sedan and wagon” range will replace the current Laguna and Latitude/Safrane models. There will not be a successor for the Laguna coupe.
Whether or not the Laguna model name will be used again is yet to be stated. The current model has not been a success and the same applies to the larger Latitude (Safrane in some markets) sedan. The latter is built in Korea by Renault Samsung.

The new car is expected to be revealed on 6 July but Renault’s spokesman would not comment on this speculation, nor would he confirm or deny production start-up dates. These are believed to be September for the sedan and November for the estate.
Whatever name the new model uses, it will use the modular CMF platform and be built in France at Douai. The project codes are LFD (four-door) and KFD (wagon).
Renault’s UK importer confirmed to just-auto.com in September 2013 that the next Laguna would not be sold in Britain.
The 1.6-litre biturbo diesel which Renault revealed at the Geneva motor show in March 2014 will be available in the Laguna successor.
