Maruti Udyog has topped the charts in the fifth JD Power Asia Pacific 2004 India Sales Satisfaction Index. On the 800-point index, Maruti scored 784 points, followed by Skoda (763) and Fiat (761).
Other car manufacturers scored below the industry average of 760 points.
Maruti has improved its ranking by two slots since the previous survey in 2003 while leading the industry on all parameters.
The survey covers six parameters including delivery process, delivery timing, salespersons, dealer facility, paperwork and deal received.
The index surveyed 3,600 vehicle owners with ownership experience of between two to six months of 31 car models.

By GlobalDataJ D Power Asia Pacific India country manager, Mohit Arora said: “Although the basic objective of the study remains unchanged, the new sales satisfaction model provides a more comprehensive understanding of the entire vehicle purchase process.
“Further, it provides an opportunity for auto manufacturers to compare and benchmark performance internationally, as the study is now similar to those being used in other markets in southeast Asia and the US.”
Maruti has continuously topped the study over the last few years.
