Maruti Udyog Ltd sold 39,574 vehicles in June 2004, including 3,159 units exported, up from 36,038 units sold in June 2003, recording a rise of 10%.


Domestic sales grew 24% in June year-on-year to 36,415 vehicles while exports fell 52%. Year-to-date domestic sales are 22% higher at 111,384 units and exports are nominally lower by 2% to 12,240 units.


Sales of Maruti’s entry segment offering, the 800, dropped 18% to 10,761 cars compared to the same month last year while April to June sales fell 22% to 31,874 units.


A sales boost came from the A2 segment where the Alto, Zen and WagonR  contributed to the 82% rise in sales in June YoY and a rise of 80% in YTD sales figures.
