Deutz AG, manufacturer of industrial engines, is close to cementing long-term sourcing deals with various Indian suppliers of engine parts. This year the company will source between €40 million and €50 million from India and expects the value to increase to €60 million in 2005.
In the fray is Sundram Fasteners who has clinched a deal worth €8 million per year and Pricol who will earn €5 million from the deal. Currently the validation test is on and supplies are expected to commence in August.
Pushrods manufacturer, Susira Industries is near clinching a pilot order worth €1 million and Ashok Iron Works is close to get an order of €6-7 million a year. Currently talks are on with Delhi based Continental Engines, maker of aluminium press castings and Maini Precision of Bangalore who produces brackets and bushes.
