Brazilian vehicle makers produced 150,389 vehicles in September, up 9.3% on the 137,541 units made in August, according to the Brazilian National Automakers Association (Anfavea), writes Rogério Louro.
Brazilian vehicle production in September also grew 7.5% compared with September 2001 when 139,950 vehicles were made.
Local market sales also increased 1.3% last month to 121,108 compared with August’s 119,525 vehicles. September 2002 sales grew 36.3% compared with September 2001 when 88,877 vehicles were sold.
Brazil exported 34,056 vehicles last month, an increase of 13.3% compared with the 30,069 units shipped in August.
But September exports decreased 7.8% compared with the 36,931 vehicles exported in the same month of 2001.
