DaimlerChrysler do Brasil this week celebrated exporting its 100,000th Brazilian-made bus, writes Rogerio Louro.
Exports began in 1961, five years after Mercedes-Benz truck and bus production began in Brazil.
The 100,000th bus will be sent to Chile.
Bus exports account for 67% of DaimlerChrysler’s total Brazilian sales to foreign markets.
In the first half of 2002, DC exported 2,000 Mercedes-Benz buses, accounting for 70% of all Brazilian bus exports.
