Argentine vehicle makers produced 15,247 vehicles in May, down 7.4% in comparison with the 16,473 units made in April according to the Argentine National Automaker’s Federation (Adefa), writes Rogério Louro.
May production fell 46.7% compared with the 28,614 units made in in May 2001.
Sales also decrease last month in Argentina. May volume of 6,037 vehicles was down 38.7% compared with the 9,847 units sold in April and, compared with the 13,169 vehicles sold in the same period of 2001, sales dropped 54.2%.
However, Argentine car makers exported 11,973 vehicles in May, a rise of 8% over the 11,090 units shipped in April.
But export volume was down 39.3% on the 19,727 vehicles shipped in May 2001.
