Delphi has just signed a joint venture deal with steering and suspension component producer Teknorot in Turkey that will cater to the supplier’s aftermarket customers.
Announcing the news at this year’s EquipAuto show in Paris, Delphi product and service chief Lucia Veiga Moretti said the JV would be known as Allied Steering Technologies. More details are expected tomorrow when Moretti is scheduled to talk to just-auto.
A futher announcement saw Delphi independent aftermarket product and service head for Europe, Middle East and Africa Gael Escribe reveal the supplier had launched its linked diagnostic system allowing technicians to connect netbooks to a universal connector under the dashboard to determine fault codes.
Once diagnosis is complete, the system will allow technicians to find parts by switching directly to the TechDoc cataloguing system.
“This is the first time technicians can make a diagnosis and find the part they need in one system,” said Escribe. “This is a significant innovation.”
Escribe also said Delphi had opened new training sites in the UK and Turkey, with Russia to follow “in the coming weeks.” Existing sites in Germany, France and Spain were also being upgraded.
