Right hand drive versions of the Volkswagen Passat CC, which made its world debut in Detroit, will go on sale in the UK and other RHD market from mid-year. US sales begin in the fourth quarter.

The four door coupe, built at VW’s Emden plant, is a new concept for the company marking a fresh styling direction and the introduction of pioneering safety, comfort and dynamic technologies.
It features four doors and four individual seats, plus a large boot while new safety and convenience technologies include lane assist and park assist.

The system is switched off as soon as the indicators are engaged; the driver can override the system at any time.

The Passat CC will be available in the UK with a choice of three petrol and two diesel engines, a 1.8-litre TSI linked to a six-speed manual or new seven-speed DSG gearbox; a 2.0-litre TSI and a 3.6-litre V6 FSI with 4Motion four-wheel drive and DSG gearbox as standard.
Two new common rail diesel engines will also be offered in 140 PS and 170 PS guises linked to either six-speed manual or DSG gearboxes.
The Passat CC will come standard in the US with the 2.0 TSI engine with 200 horsepower and 207 lb-ft of torque, available with either a six-speed manual or six-speed Tiptronic transmission. Available optionally is the 3.6L FSI, rated at 280 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque whcih comes with the six-speed Tiptronic transmission.
