Toyota Motor Sales USA will launch the US-designed and built 2009 Venza crossover sedan at the 2008 Detroit motor show.
The company announced no details other than that the Venza would be a blend of sedan and sport utility vehicle with five seats, easy entrance and exit, a car-like ride and “functional utility”.
It will be assembled in Georgetown, Kentucky.
The new model seems to have caught US observers by surprise as a brief check of consumer websites based there produced few extra details.
The Car Connection said the choice of Georgetown suggested the Venza would share the drivetrains used in the Avalon/Camry also built there.
