US-based autonomous driving startup May Mobility has partnered with Deloitte to enhance safety in autonomous transportation through data and analytics.

This collaboration aims to address consumer concerns highlighted in Deloitte’s 2025 Global Automotive Consumer Study, which found that safety is a top priority for those using autonomous transportation solutions.

The partnership between Deloitte and May Mobility will leverage their respective strengths in data analysis and autonomous vehicle technology.

The data from May Mobility’s deployments allows for close monitoring of safety events. It also provide insights to help improve safety outcomes for riders.

Deloitte’s autonomous vehicle data platform is a key component of this initiative, offering transportation planners and operators insights to optimise autonomous mobility in their communities.

In 2024, Deloitte and May Mobility launched their insight services through the Accessibili-D autonomous vehicle programme in Detroit.

This service has been instrumental for city and university researchers, including those from the University of Michigan, in enhancing the AV system that assists older adults and people with disabilities in accessing essential services.

The insights gained from this programme are now set to be integrated into the autonomous vehicle strategies of other municipalities and businesses globally.

May Mobility chief commercial officer Manik Dhar said: “Our patented Multi-Policy Decision Making (MPDM) technology runs on-board simulations to imagine thousands of possible scenarios every second, enabling a vehicle to rapidly perform the safest action in any given scenario.

“Combining MPDM with Deloitte’s insights platform creates another layer of analysis tailored for each unique community, resulting in an optimised mobility system for our customers.”

The new collaboration merges Deloitte’s expertise in data, software engineering, and AI with May Mobility’s AV system data, as well as additional information on weather, city infrastructure, and ridership.

Deloitte Consulting principal Jeff Hood said: “Our goal is to collaborate with May Mobility to create safer autonomous mobility by analysing AV behaviour and interactions with riders and the broader community.”
