Dana says the new 2021 Land Rover Defender features its latest Spicer AdvanTEK axles, designed to deliver improved performance and greater power density.
Dana’s association started when Land Rover specified Spicer front and rear axles in the early 1980s and continued through 2016, when the original vehicle was discontinued.
The new Defender re-emerged in 2020 and again specified Dana’s Spicer axle designs.
“Dana’s technology leadership, launch execution, and off-road experience continue to create value for our customers,” said Dana Light Vehicle Drive Systems EVP and president, Bob Pyle.
“We are proud to supply a variety of vehicles, including the all-new, tough and capable Defender. We are pleased to extend our 70-year relationship with Jaguar Land Rover and once again supply our technologies to this iconic vehicle platform.”
In addition to the axles’ ability to tackle challenging terrain, Dana says its Spicer AdvanTEK axles provide improved efficiency and best-in-class noise, vibration and harshness performance.
