More management shuffling at Daimler, this time a bit lower down – Markus Keicher (51) will move from the Bremen car plant to take over as the new production and site chief at the Ludwigsfelde plant from 1 April, 2020.
Keicher's title is the same as at Bremen and he takes over from Sebastian Streuff who became responsible for the 'transformation process' of Mercedes-Benz Vans from 1 February.
Vans unit chief Marcus Breitschwerdt said of Streuff: "With his extensive experience in production and many different efficiency programmes, he has the best qualifications for leading the transformation office and to contribute significantly to put vans back on the road of success."
Ingo Ettischer, head of vans operations said of Keicher: "With his expertise in many different production areas worldwide, he is ideally equipped to successfully lead our plant for the open model series of the Sprinter."
Keicher's resume includes management and project posts at the Berlin site and in passenger car production, maintenance, technical service and production planning before moving to the Beijing Benz joint venture in China to set up and start production of the first M-B engine factory outside Germany. He next headed engine production at Untertuerkheim before his previous move to Bremen.
