Renault-owned Romanian carmaker Dacia is preparing to launch new models, the company's CEO Christophe Dridi told local media.

They would likely be in the SUV segment or close, he hinted, adding that the company's flagship Duster model "will get some sisters", News.ro reported.

In the shorter term, Dridi said the plant's capacity would increase to 400,000 units per year (from 350,000) from September after a EUR100m spend.

"We are investing EUR75m and the government [has given] a EUR25m grant. This will allow us to produce 50,000 more cars per year and employ 300 more people," he said in a report published on romania-insider.com.

Renault Group Romania itself will on 28 June open new headquarters in Bucharest. All of the group's 3,200 employees in the capital are set to work in the same office location, whereas now they work in five different locations. Renault Groups has 18,300 employees throughout the country.
