
Renault Group’s Romanian brand Dacia, describing itself as “the best value for money car brand”, claimed “considerably higher sales volume” and “record breaking market shares, with significant growth”, for first quarter 2023.
Sales of passenger and light commercial vehicles rose 34.3% year on year to 171,789 units.
Dacia added its share of the European passenger market grew 0.8% to 4.6% which is claimed was the largest increase among the top 30 automotive brands.
In France, the largest market, 38,938 vehicles were registered, up 32.6% with market share up 1.2% to 7.6%. The brand claimed record breaking volume and share, for third place position in the retail market across all channels.
In Italy, Dacia sold 25,142 units (+29.7%) for a share of 5.3% (PC+LCV), up 0.2%.
Strong growth in Germany saw sales rise 30.4% to 16,399 units for a 2.2% share.
