Czech vehicle production reached a record 943,117 units, up 9.94% year on year.

“In spite of stagnant demand in western Europe and the significant fall on the German auto market, producers and suppliers in the Czech Republic have been able to attain record results,” automakers’ association president Martin Jahn told Agence France Press (AFP).

Car production rose 9.66% with 932,016 units produced, mainly by Skoda Auto and the Toyota, Peugeot-Citroen joint venture TPCA Czech, the report said.

Lorry production increased 58.25% to 3,154 with the biggest producer, Tatra, increasing output last year by 60.89% to 2,431 units.
