Škoda Auto boosted sales 12.6% year on year to 462,429 vehicles worldwide over the first three quarters of 2007.


This is the best third-quarter result in the automaker’s history while September sales of 56,384 vehicles broke another record for the month.


The Octavia was the best-selling model at the end of this quarter (169,582 vehicles in total, up 12.3% and, with nearly 54,000 vehicles sold, the first-generation Octavia Tour remains popular.


The company sold 174,327 Fabias in the first nine months, of which nearly a third were the redesigned hatchback launched earlier this year.


Sales in western Europe rose 9% to 249,555 units. Eastern Europe grew 36.1% to 67,550 vehicles. Central Europe sales, including the Czech Republic domestic market, were flat at 102,796 units.
