Stronger exports and domestic sales have helped the Czech Republic report a double digit jump in car production in the first nine-months of the year.

According to figures from the Czech Car Association, production in the country was up nearly 13% to 807,076 vehicles. The result was driven by a 15.8% rise in exports and a 9.5% jump in domestic sales.

Volkswagen‘s Skoda Auto unit led the way, producing some 413,465 cars. It was followed by the Toyota Motor and PSA Peugeot Citroen joint venture, which produced 247,000 cars between January and the end of September. Hyundai turned out around 144,000 vehicles.
