Supplier Continental, the largest manufacturer of automotive components in Romania, has started work on a EUR33m expansion of its research and development center in Timisoara, in the west of the country.
The building, which will have a total area of about 26,000 sq m, has been designed for up to 1,700 employees, romania-insider.com.
It will also include a complete testing and validation area for the products developed within the company.
Construction works should be completed in April 2021.
"Even though we are all going through a difficult period, we continue to invest in the future," said Christian von Albrichsfeld, CEO of Continental Automotive Romania.
The report noted Continental has seven production units and four engineering centres in Timisoara, Sibiu, Carei, Nadab, Brasov, and Iasi.
