Continental has appointed Gilles Mabire as new head of Commercial Vehicles and Aftermarket Business Unit (CVAM) from 1 April.
Mabire succeeds Michael Ruf, who is pursuing new opportunities outside Continental after having led the business unit for the last ten years.
CVAM, which is part of the Interior Division, accommodates the specific requirements of the commercial vehicle and special vehicle markets as well as the passenger car aftermarket. The business unit is also responsible for products relating to Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), which connect users and vehicles with the transport infrastructure, with a focus on services and new functions.
Mabire has been with Continental for more than ten years. He holds an electrical and mechanical engineering degree from the ESME Sudria Engineering School in Paris. Mabire has more than 20 years of experience in various management positions in the automotive industry and prior to his appointment, was in charge of Continental’s operations in France.
