Visteon Corporation has officially celebrated the expansion of its Yanfeng Visteon Automotive Electronics (YFVE) plant in Shanghai, China. The expansion will help the joint venture support rapidly growing customer needs, the supplier said.
The expansion more than doubled the size of the plant to 30,000 sq m (323,000 sq ft); it now can accommodate up to 1,300 employees. The plant produces a full product range including driver information, audio and infotainment, and centre console controls. The expansion boosts the plant’s yearly capacity by almost 50% and allows it to incorporate more manufacturing equipment and processes for improved efficiency.
“The plant expansion further strengthens our already formidable electronics capability in China,” said Visteon product group president Steve Meszaros. “YFVE is one of our longest standing joint ventures in China.”
Established in 1994, YFVE is a market leader in automotive electronics in China, designing and manufacturing for both local and export sale. YFVE has five factories in China and a technical centre in Shanghai. It supplies international and domestic automakers.
