Toyota has begun a new sales drive in China, days after company president Akio Toyoda apologised to local consumers for recalling 75,000 vehicles.
The campaign includes interest-free loans for some models as well as roadside service backup and free petrol.
A Toyota spokeswoman said the offers were: “Part of our spring campaign that was planned several months ago”. “The number of people who visit our sales outlets is dropping a little bit,” she added. “We hope this campaign will help motivate people to come to our outlets.”
Toyota China is offering the luxury Crown sedan with 0% interest finance and two years of 24/7 roadside service on sales contracts inked between 10 March and the end of April. The locally assembled Camry is also being offered with 0% finance.
Anyone who test drives a Toyota will get a coupon good for petrol worth US$13.
