Toyota may delay the addition of the fourth production line at its Tianjin plant as the sales decline in China is expected to continue for the foreseeable future.

The automaker is also contemplating a similar delay for the third line at Guangzhou. That line will have capacity of 200,000 units and is set to start output in 2015.

Toyota was expected to complete the new line at Tianjin by December 2014, a Japanese report said.

However, with poor prospects Toyota’s sales recovery in China would determine a new schedule for the 200,000 unit line.

Toyota’s Chinese sales fell 22% in November.
