The tendering process has started for the contract to design the planned Beijing International Automobile Exposition Centre.
According to Access Asia, companies from the US, Germany, Canada, Japan and China have submitted designs and an on-line exhibition is to be held at www.openshow.com.cn. to garner public opinion.
The Automobile Exposition Centre will be built in Fengtai District in Beijing and have a car museum (China’s first), information centre, distribution hall, exhibition area, and attached plaza.
The centre will cost RMB 4 billion (£295,500,000; $483,200,000) and should be open by 2006.
