SKF has started delivery of bonded piston seals to Geely Automobile in an agreement worth more than SEK100m (US$15.6m) for a five-year period.
The deal will see SKF deliver seals to equip Geely’s automatic transmission (6AT) for its car models GC6, Emgrande EC8 and its first SUV, Gleagle GX7.

“Our development work with Geely for more efficient transmissions has given us the possibility to prove our skills and expertise,” said SKF Automotive president, Tryggve Sthen.
“Our seals meet the very tough demands Geely requires. Our local Chinese manufacturing and engineering footprint enables us to be close to Geely and respond quickly to their needs.”
