New car sales in China rose 16.9% to 1,556,700 units in September, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers said.
The figures suggest car sales in China have rebounded, as sales grew by double digits for the second month, Kyodo News noted. The number of cars sold in September was the third highest ever in a single month.
Sales of new cars in the first three quarters of this year were up 35.97% from a year earlier to 13,138,400, almost equal to sales for the whole of 2009 – 13,644,800.
China’s auto output from January to September rose 36.1% to 13.08m vehicles.
