SAIC will launch its new MG5 compact in March with an 80kW/135Nm, 1.5-litre normally aspirated petrol engine and follow up with more powerful turbocharged variants in the second half of 2012.

According to WheelsUnplugged.com, the Roewe 350-based MG5 has a large LCD instrument display, navigation system, electric windows and multi-functional steering wheel, among other features. It also has the automaker’s new voice control system, iVoka.

The 1.5-litre engine is shared with the Roewe model.
