Renault will test the market in China for its Fluence EV next year by putting five examples on the road there to see how the infrastructure is developing.

The Beijing Times said the company would then consider larger volume delivery. The newspaper cited Chen Guozhang, CEO of Renault Greater China.

It had previously been reported that Renault had received orders for 200 Fluence EVs since unveiling the car at this year’s Paris motor show.

The Fluence EV has both standard and rapid-charge capability and batteries can be quickly exchanged via Renault’s ‘QuickDrop’ scheme.

Chen told the paper Renault is currently analysing the development of electric vehicles in China.
