Renault and Nissan CEO, Carlos Ghosn, has hinted production of Renault vehicles may begin in China by 2016.

Plans to manufacture Nissan’s premium brand Infiniti in the country are yet to be finalised, he added.

China, where local manufacture is well established, accounted for 50% of Nissan’s global volume in 2010. The carmaker has also done well in developing markets including southeast Asia, Russia and Brazil.
