PSA Peugeot Citroen has announced that it plans to spend EUR90m setting up an R&D centre in China over the next three years.


The centre, which will be located in Shanghai, will commence operations in September 2008 and will have over 500 engineers and technicians by 2010. it will deal in R&D of cars and car parts as well as management of local purchase for Peugeot and Citroen brands cars, according to a SinoCast report.


The establishment of the centre is a part of the carmaker’s long-term strategy.
