Nissan Motor on Thursday said passenger car production in China has reached 500,000 units since it began operation there in 2000 with a Chinese partner.
Dongfeng Nissan Passenger Vehicle Company, controlled equally by Nissan and Dongfeng Automobile, produces the Teana model at its two assembly factories – the Huadu plant in Guangzhou and the Xiangfan plant in Hubei, according to Agence France Presse.
The company was also reported to have said it set a sales target of 300,000 cars for 2007 and was launching the new Sylphy passenger car model this month.
