Nissan Motor has denied it will begin production of Infiniti cars in China, China Knowledge reported.
Recent reports had said Nissan would built Infiniti cars in Wuhan at a joint venture plant it operates with Dongfeng Motor.
Nissan said no such decision had been made.
It announced earlier it was moving Infiniti global headquarters to Hong Kong in April 2012.
Infiniti models are produced in Tochigi and Fukuoka, Japan, with combined annual capacity of about 200,000 units.
Lv Zhengyu, general manger of the Infiniti business unit in China, said sales there are estimated at around 20,000 units this year.
