Korean bearings and suspension components maker Iljin has opened a second plant in China, supplying wheel bearings to Shanghai GM, Chery Automotive and BBDC.
The 257,000 sq ft, $US36m plant includes forging and machining operations for production of ball bearings. It employs 173 hourly and management personnel.
Iljin also produces a range of forged and stamped parts, including suspension components such as ball joints, tie rods, stabiliser links, knuckles and control arms.
It has technical centres and manufacturing locations in Korea, China, India, Australia, Slovakia and the US.
