European luxury car brands have cut new car and aftersales prices in China as a result of the government’s investigation into anti-competitive activity, launched earlier this year.

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) announced voluntary price cuts averaging CNY200,000 (US$32,400) on three models, including the Jaguar F-Type cabriolet, Range Rover 5.0 V8 and the Range Rover Sports 5.0 V8, and said it would review its overall pricing policy in response to the anti-trust probe by China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC).

Volkswagen’s Audi division said it will review its spare parts pricing in China in response to the NDRC’s anti-trust probe. Pricing activity among other luxury car makers, including Mercedes-Benz, is also understood to be under the NDRC’s spotlight at present.
