The Guangqi Honda Automobile Company (GHAC) joint venture has held a ceremony to commemorate the opening of its third automobile production plant and an engine plant within the property of the existing ZengCheng plant.
Built as an eco-plant that combines various smart features, the third plant is claimed to achieve "significant advances in areas of production efficiency, product quality, energy conservation and environmental responsibility". It is also an environmentally-responsible and energy-saving plant equipped with a 17mW solar power generation system, the automaker said.

The third plant has initial annual capacity of 120,000 units. Combining annual production capacity of all GHAC and Dongfeng Honda JV plants, Honda's overall annual automobile production capacity in China now exceeds 1m units.
