Great Wall Motors has signed a deal with TRW Group to upgrade its vehicle safety equipment.

Both companies have jointly worked on developing electric power steering systems with more fuel economy.

Wei Jianjun, Great Wall Motors chairman said, “The C-NCAP new regulations, which will be implemented next year, raise a higher demand on the anti-collision capacity of the whole vehicle; cooperation with the TRW can contribute to upgrading of the company in the active and passive safety technologies.”

Peter Lake, TRW executive vice president, added: “The company always adheres to the balanced development of active and passive technologies, and the Chinese market is its strategic focus.”
