Geely Holding Group is to rebrand its domestic model line with three new nameplates next year.

Vice president Zhao Fuquan told local media updated versions of three main lines – Freedom Ship, King Kong and Vision – are under development and will be launched next year. At that time, they will be rebranded from Geely and sold under the Gleagle, Emgrand and Shanghai Englon nameplates.

The Freedom Ship will be renamed Gleagle GC3, King Kong the Englon SC6, Jinying Gleagle the GC6-RV, and Vision  the Gleagle GC7. All current Geely products will eventually be part of this multiple branding.

The current Marple (Huapu) cars will not change their nameplates and will be dropped as they get to the end of their product life cycle, vice president Liu Jinliang said.

Geely introduced the Gleagle, Emgrand and Englon brands in 2008, replacing Geely and Marple.
