Geely has said it aims to increase the volume of its auto sales this year by 25% from 2008, despite an economic slowdown.
Sales volume grew 11.6% in 2008 from the previous year, the carmaker said in a statement dated Dec. 31. Exports last year grew by 79.8%, it said.
Geely plans to release a new model and a revision of an existing model each quarter this year, the statement added.
The firm is also planning to collaborate with Taiwan’s Yulon Motor according to media reports in Taiwan. The two reportedly plan to launch car models targeting the mass market in Taiwan.
Yulon plans to import car parts from Geely and assemble them in Taiwan, local Taiwan reports say.
