Ford vehicle sales in China leapt 79% in the third quarter of this year, the automaker said on Tuesday.

Its joint ventures and wholly-owned entities in China delivered 119,338 units, up 79% year on year. September sales of Ford brand vehicles rose 107% to a record high.

Nine-month sales were up 32% to 316,639 units.

“The overwhelming response of Chinese consumers to our world-class lineup of Ford brand vehicles is underpinning our continued performance of record sales,” said Ford Motor China chairman and CEO Robert Graziano.

“In September, [the locally assembled] Fiesta achieved its best monthly sales performance of 5,009 units, reaching total sales of 32,178 since its March launch,” added Graziano.
