Changan Ford Mazda Automobile will recall 62,445 cars because of problems with their antilock braking systems, China’s quality control agency has said.

The recall of 58,949 Ford Mondeo sedans and 3,496 S-Max MPVs built between 5 October, 2007, and 26 July, 2009, began on 1 April, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine announced on its website, according to a Dow Jones report.

Affected vehicles may experience a failure of ABS control modules although braking operation should not be impacted, a statement explained.

Changan Ford Mazda is a joint venture between Ford, Changan Automobile Group and Mazda Motor.
