Ford’s Chinese joint venture had a record month in July, selling over 50% more vehicles than last year.
Changan Ford Mazda sold 19,486 Ford models last month, up 54%. Sales also grew in the first seven months of the year, up 21.5% to 123,474 units.
Earlier this week, General Motors said its July sales in China surged almost 78% year on year to 144,593 units.
That made it the best July on record in the automaker’s second largest market after the US. Sales have risen every month this year, GM China said.
For the first seven months of 2009, GM China and its joint ventures sold 959,035 vehicles, up 43% year on year.
