Dongfeng has said that its vehicle sales in 2008 rose 11.4% to 1.06m units.
The firm’s car sales last year increased 14% to 727,392 units.
However, it also said in a statement that December vehicle sales were 10.7% below year-ago levels as demand in China slowed.
The company also said that it’s JV with Nissan Motor will receive additional investment funds of over a billion yuan.
The new funding will be used to support construction of Zhengzhou Nissan’s second plant.
The second plant started construction last September, with a total investment of 3.08 billion yuan, including 985 million yuan for the first phase construction.

Zhengzhou Nissan has set a sales goal of 27% growth to 60,000 units in 2009. It grew sales by 21% to 47,166 units in 2008.
Xinhua news agency reported that according to Zhu Fushou, general manager of Dongfeng Motor, the joint venture company would launch three new models this year, including a Cabstar light truck model and an ‘intelligent MPV’ model under the Nissan brand and an ‘economic MPV’ model under the Dongfeng brand.
