Dongfeng Motor’s net income for the first nine months of 2011 fell 3% to CNY8.35bn (US$1.3bn) as production was disrupted by the Japanese earthquake.
Additionally, car sales in China have been adversely affected by a couple of government decisions.
These include the reinstatement of a 10% sales tax on small cars and the phase out of trade in subsidies in rural areas.
