The Chinese car making venture between Hong Kong-listed Denway Motors and Honda Motor reportedly said on Monday that it sold 11,101 cars in February, up 72.7% from the same period last year.
But the figure was lower than the 12,000 cars Guangzhou Honda Automobile Co. Ltd. sold in January as the Chinese New Year holiday trimmed the number of working days in February, Reuters noted.
Guangzhou Honda reportedly sold 5,611 Accord sedans and 5,488 Fit [Jazz] subcompacts last month and launched its remodelled Odyssey minivan over the weekend at prices ranging from 246,800 yuan to 254,800 yuan ($US29,800-$30,770), the report added, noting that, earlier this year, Guangzhou Honda cut prices for its new Accord sedan model by 7 to 9%.
Guangzhou Honda put its yearly sales target at 230,000 cars this year, a 14% increase over 2004, Reuters said.
