Delphi has announced that it is simplifying and streamlining its Packard Electric divisional activities throughout China by consolidating three Delphi entities into a single joint venture, providing better customer service and enabling faster, more flexible manufacturing.
“We appreciate the high degree of support from the China government that has enabled us to consolidate our three divisional operations together across provinces to create a unique equity joint venture. This new structure will make it easier for us to do business in China and will help us be more agile and flexible to manage our customers’ needs,” said Jim Spencer, president Delphi Packard Electric Systems. “This new venture not only makes it easier for our customers and the China government to work with us, but it streamlines our internal business processes and administrative activities.”
Delphi Packard Electric Systems Company Ltd., headquartered in Shanghai, is now the single entity throughout China for the division, consolidating all the manufacturing, engineering and administrative activities of Delphi Packard Electric Shanghai, Delphi Packard Electric Baicheng and Delphi Packard Electric Guangzhou.
San Lian, formerly the 40 percent equity partner of Delphi Packard Electric Shanghai, now owns 20 percent of Delphi Packard Electric Systems Company Ltd. and Delphi owns the remaining 80 percent. Delphi Packard Electric established business in China in 1994, and produces electrical/electronic distribution systems and provides engineering and customer support.
