The long wheelbase C-Triomphe is built on the C4 platform at the French automaker’s joint venture factory in Wuhan.

The new model goes on sale in mid-2006.

Citroën has a long history in this market segment in China and has sold 600,000 vehicles to date, primarily through the success of the earlier ZX-based Fukang sedan and the Elysée, models which were also specific to China.

In 2005, Citroën increased sales 34% and sold 100,000 vehicles. The launch of another new model specially for China is part of a plant to further grow market share in the country.

With its long 2.71m wheelbase, the C Triomphe is claimed to be exceptionally spacious and set a new standard in rear space, with generous leg room. Front seats are electrically controlled and light-coloured leather upholstery and wood finish are available.

Reflecting its likely choice by owners with chauffeurs, a blower is fitted in the central armrest to boost rear air flow and a rear window sunblind is available.

The new model for China has a 108kW, two-litre petrol engine with manual or automatic gearbox.
