China’s vehicle output volume will reach 9.6m vehicles this year according to the Chinese government.

Xu Changming, Director of the Information Resources Department of the State Information Centrer, said that 9.6m volume is lower than the 10.23m units predicted at the beginning of this year.

China’s economic slowdown has begun to be felt in vehicle markets in recent months and there are reports that November’s car market was 15% off the same month last year.

Xu said that this year, the domestic market demand will stand at 9.2m vehicles compared to 8.42m units in 2007, with the growth rate standing ranging between 7% and 8%.
