The US$472.4m facility will also house services such as welding, painting, and chassis. Additionally, Chery is also planning for a training centre at the plant.
Chery’s new production plant is expected to be completed by the end of 2011 and production is expected to start by 2013.
The Chinese automaker’s proposed joint venture with Subaru is currently awaiting government approval.
